Rory McIlroy left the world awestruck with his historic career grand slam victory at Augusta National this year. The Northern Irishman recently revealed an early Christmas gift he received from his long-time caddy, Harry Diamond, that commemorated his achievement.
14 years after the 2011 Masters heartbreak, McIlroy finally won the Green Jacket in April 2025. With his fifth major and first Masters victory, the former World No. 1 became the sixth golfer to enter the famed Career Grand Slam winners' club.
On the Fried Egg Golf Podcast, McIlroy shared a gift he received from Harry, a rare Augusta National card signed by previous career grand slam winners, Tiger Woods, Gary Player, Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, and Jack Nicklaus. Talking about the gift, the Holywood native said:
"I actually have a thing right beside me here, which I think you guys will appreciate So Harry give this to me sort of is like an early Christmas present in Australia last week and I'm gonna show it. "This is the first time anyone's really seen it... and he brought me he brought me this with a sharpie and said do you want to sign it? McIlroy and Diamond are childhood friends. Diamond's first time as the golfer's caddie was in 2005, when a 16-year-old McIlroy competed in the Irish Open. McIlroy initially had JP Fitzgerald in his bag since his PGA Tour debut until Diamond was hired for the role in 2017.
Rory McIlroy's 2025 Masters win was his first major championship victory with Diamond as his caddie. With his unwavering support through countless ups and downs, McIlroy had openly acknowledged the former's presence on several occasions.

Rory McIlroy was visibly emotional right after he sank that final putt in the sudden-death playoff. Besides embracing his family, the professional golfer also shared a heartwarming embrace with his bagman, Harry Diamond.
During the press conference at Augusta National, a teary-eyed McIlroy acknowledged Diamond's presence in his life and further stated, via Golf Digest:
"We’ve had so many good times together. He’s been like a big brother to me the whole way through my life." "To be able to share this with him after all the close calls that we’ve had, all the crap that he’s had to take from people that don’t know anything about the game, yeah, this one is just as much his as it is mine."Rory McIlroy and Harry Diamond won several tournaments and also experienced heartbreaking near misses since the latter became his caddie. Even before their first Masters win together, the PGA Tour pro had stated how he found Diamond to be the best friend he could ever ask for.
