Rory McIlroy reveals making exciting changes concerning his golf ahead of the 2026 season

Rory McIlroy is all set to tee off the 2026 season on the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and his own TGL league. He recently revealed a change he is hoping to make to his golf game heading into the new year.

In an episode of Drive With The Green on Boston Common Golf's YouTube channel, the Northern Irishman was asked to name the number one thing he is working on at the moment. Rory McIlroy revealed that he is testing out a new set of irons, which the Career Grand Slam winner hopes make it into his permanent bag for the season.

"I’m actually trying a new set of irons, which I’m very excited about at the minute."

Having been a part of TaylorMade's Tour staff since May 2017, he will likely debut new irons by the golf manufacturing giant. Rory McIlroy is currently playing his own custom Rors prototype irons from TaylorMade, along with a P760 4 iron.

Rory McIlroy's next scheduled start is set to be the 2025 Dubai Invitational. Being played at the iconic Dubai Creek Resort, the tournament will span from January 15 to 18.

However, he will be playing in the second match of TGL's second season on January 2 at the SoFi Center. Rory McIlroy will represent Boston Common Golf alongside Keegan Bradley and Michael Thornjornsen as they take on Los Angeles Golf Club's Justin Rose, Collin Morikawa, and Sahith Theegala.
