Rory McIlroy clinched a massive win at the 2025 Masters, marking it as one of his career's most impressive achievements. He became only the sixth golfer in history to complete a career grand slam (winning all four golf majors). The most impressive aspect of McIlroy's victory was that he had been seeking the Masters title for nearly a decade in order to complete his career grand slam.
Interestingly, Rory McIlroy was recently spotted with all four of his golf major championships. Golf.com shared the news on their X account, noting that McIlroy was present at Giant's Causeway, a place in Northern Ireland. The golfer was posing on top of a mountain while wearing the Masters' green jacket. Interestingly, Golf.com teased to followers that something might be coming shortly.
The caption of the post read,
"Rory McIlroy was seen at Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland with all four major championship trophies and his green jacket. Something major in the works? 👀 (via @rory_fans // X)"McIlroy currently has 29 PGA Tour wins, which include five golf major titles. Talking more about the golf major wins, they happened at the 2011 U.S. Open, the 2012 PGA Championship, the 2014 Open Championship, the 2014 PGA Championship, and the 2025 Masters Tournament.
The last tournament Rory McIlroy competed in was the DP World India Championship, where he entered as the fan favourite to win the whole thing. Unfortunately, he barely made it inside the top 30 with a total score of 11 under par, tied for 26th place. This was not just McIlroy's first competition in India, but he was also the first golfer to carry the green jacket to the country.
Where is Rory McIlroy going to play his first tournament of the 2026 season?
DP World India Championship 2025 - Day Four - Source: GettyRory McIlroy is currently enjoying a little break from golf, and his next tournament is all set to take place in Dubai. The DP World Tour confirmed on its Instagram page that McIlroy will compete in the Dubai Invitational, which will be held at Dubai Creek Resort from January 15 to 18.
Interestingly, McIlroy has stated that he is quite thrilled to begin his season in Dubai, having previously spent some enjoyable weeks there. The golfer said,
"I’m excited to be starting my year in Dubai. The UAE is a place where I’ve enjoyed a lot of great weeks, and I’m sure this will be no different. Dubai Creek Resort was a fantastic host venue two years ago, and Abdulla (Tournament Host Abdulla Al Naboodah) and his team put on an incredible event."This will be McIlroy's second Dubai Invitational, as he finished his previous one really close to winning, ending tied for second place with only one shot off the eventual winner.
