Giants' Cam Skattebo gets special delivery while in Philadelphia hospital for dislocated ankle surgery

Cam Skattebo had to stick around Philadelphia even after his New York Giants lost to the Eagles.

That's because the rookie running back had to go to the hospital to have surgery on his dislocated ankle.

Skattebo stayed overnight as his teammates returned home, but it wasn't all bad news.

On Monday, Skattebo got a special visitor to Penn Presbyterian: Eagles' Chief of Security, Dom DiSandro, a fan favorite.

The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane shared this story on X:

"#Eagles Do-it-all Chief of Security Dom DiSandro, who dropped off pizza and cheesesteaks for the Giants rookie while he was still at the Philly hospital after dislocating his ankle on Sunday."

Pizza and cheesesteaks, not a bad deal. DiSandro is known as "Big Dom" and is a popular sideline presence for his size and energy during Eagles games.

Of course, it's a rough time for Skattebo, so any comfort food can't hurt, no matter who delivers it.

His dislocated ankle was just the worst moment of a rough Sunday for the Giants, who were handled by the Eagles to fall to 2-6 on the season.

Skattebo will be out the rest of the year after his surgery, a brutal blow after such a promising start to his NFL career.

On paper, the Giants have both their quarterback of the future in Jaxson Dart, and their RB of the future in Skattebo.

Now, they'll have to wait and see if he heals up well enough to maintain that status. And for the rest of this season, New York will have to rely on the likes of Tyrone Tracy and Devin Singletary in a less interesting backfield composition.

At least on Monday, though, Skattebo got some love from a Philadelphian. And in a tough time, that's a cool gesture.
