Hollywood celeb tried to woo Alex Bregman to the Red Sox

Many actors are huge fans of the Boston Red Sox, including Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Casey Affleck, Mark Wahlberg, and Chris Evans. Wahlberg recenlty seemed to do some recruiting for his favorite MLB franchise.

Wahlberg's affinity towards the Red Sox came from growing up in the Dorchester neighbourhood of Boston. He often leans into the 'Boston guy' image, which is a recurring theme in his movies and public appearances.

Wahlberg's character in the 2016 movie "Patriots Day" wears a Red Sox hat in several scenes. In his 2017 movie "Daddy's Home 2," his character and Mel Gibson, portraying Wahlberg's father in the movie, attend a Red Sox game.
