WASHINGTON — The Republican National Committee (RNC) took in more than $10 million last month, adding to its nearly $90 million funding reserve as the party prepares for next year’s midterm elections, according to figures shared exclusively with The Post.
In November, the Republican Party’s principal campaign committee took in $10.2 million — bringing its fundraising total to $156.3 million so far this year, with $89.9 million cash on hand as of Nov. 30.
That amount dwarfs the Democratic National Committee’s haul in 2025, with the DNC having just $18 million cash on hand as of Oct. 31, according to Federal Election Commission filings.
“The RNC is building a strong war chest that will allow Republicans to defend and expand our majorities in Congress through the 2026 midterm elections,” said its chairman Joe Gruters in a statement.
“President Trump and Vice President Vance are working full steam to ensure Republican candidates have the resources they need to win and to reach voters across the country.”
The latest donation figures — overseen by Vice President JD Vance in his dual role as RNC finance chair — come as Trump prepares to continue his affordability tour with a Friday night event touting his administration’s economic agenda in Rocky Mount, NC.
On Dec. 9, the president kicked off the messaging campaign at a casino in Mount Pocono, Pa., a key battleground state in elections that is expected to feature highly competitive congressional races in the midterms.
The RNC raised $14.7 million in October and listed $91.2 million cash on hand by the end of that month, according to FEC filings, showing fundraising shrank slightly following Democrats’ clean sweep of off-year races in New Jersey and Virginia.
Meanwhile, the Democratic National Committee had raised $23.1 million in October, with an $18.2 million campaign war chest by the end of the month.
The Dems were also carrying more than $15 million in campaign debt, while Republicans recorded none.
The DNC did not immediately respond to a request from The Post for its November fundraising figures.
Halfway through 2025, the RNC, then led by chairman Michael Whatley, had $80.7 million cash on hand, while the DNC had amassed a mere $15.2 million war chest between January and June.
Whatley, who is now running for Senate, will join Trump for Friday night’s North Carolina event.
North Carolina families have paid an extra $486 in costs associated with inflation, the DNC noted in a press release, sharing estimates from Democrats serving on the Joint Economic Committee.
The year is also ending with decreased business activity and manufacturing is down slightly in the Tar Heel State since Trump assumed office in January, according to figures from the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond shared by the DNC.
Democratic party bosses declined this week to put out a 2024 post-mortem on Vice President Kamala Harris’ defeat by Trump, with DNC chairman Ken Martin dismissing the release of any findings that would be “a distraction from its core mission.”
The report faulted the DNC on voter outreach — especially with young voters who swung to Trump by 11 percentage points, according to a party official who discussed the report on the condition of anonymity.
Democrats also failed to be responsive to voters’ concerns about issues like public safety and immigration — nor did the party have credibility when talking about the economy, the official assessed.
Former DNC spokeswoman Xochitl Hinojosa added that their party didn’t “need to engage in a handwringing exercise about last year’s elections when we’re winning this year’s elections, and are on the path to crushing Republicans in the midterms.”
Harris suggested as recently as late October that she may still seek the Democratic nomination in 2028 — after having been elevated to the position without a primary contest when former President Joe Biden dropped out last July.
Reps for the DNC did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
