Rihanna’s dad Ronald Fenty’s cause of death revealed

Rihanna’s father Ronald Fenty’s cause of death has been revealed.

Fenty died on May 31 at 70 from acute respiratory failure, pancreatic cancer and aspiration pneumonia, TMZ reported Thursday.

Ronald’s death certificate also listed acute renal failure and acute tubular necrosis.

Aspiration pneumonia is defined as a bacterial lung infection, while acute renal failure and tubular necrosis indicates serious kidney damage, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

The “Diamonds” singer, 37, was believed to have been by her father’s side around the time of his death.

In May, photos obtained by Page Six showed her brother, Rajad Fenty, arriving at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles to visit their father.

Rihanna was believed to be in the car as well, but she was not visible in the photos.

The pop star — born Robyn Rihanna Fenty — and her dad had a strained relationship full of ups and downs over the years.

Ronald’s alcohol and drug abuse reportedly caused tension in his relationship with his daughter. He and Rihanna’s mother, Monica Braithwaite, divorced when the Fenty Beauty founder was 14.

The “Love on the Brain” hitmaker spoke on their estrangement, telling Vogue in 2011 that her connection with her father had become “really strange.”

“You hear the horror stories about people going behind people’s backs and doing strange things, but you always think, ‘Not my family. My father would never do that to me,'” she told the magazine.

As time went on, the father-daughter duo briefly repaired their relationship, only to fall out again.

In 2019, Rihanna sued her father for allegedly using her name for financial gain through his talent development company, Fenty Entertainment.

The “Work” singer filed to dismiss the lawsuit three weeks before the case went to trial in 2021.

After settling the legal matter, Ronald shared they had reconciled once again.
