Richard Sherman has high praise for San Francisco 49ers non-Mike Evans addition

The San Francisco 49ers have had an excellent offseason and truly look like they’ve built one of the best offenses in the league again. While not everything will wor out as planned, signing Christian Kirk was a very smart move by the front office.

Kirk brings experience and should fit in nicely. The question for the 49ers continues to be about health, so hopefully, Kirk can stay on the field and do what’s needed.

Beyond production, Kirk’s skill set fills a specific need. San Francisco’s offense is at its best when everyone is getting involved. Kirk will give the 49ers a different look than they usually have.

Former NFL cornerback Richard Sherman spoke about the move, adding that his value as a veteran can’t go unnoticed.

“The San Francisco 49ers also picked up Christian Kirk, a receiver formerly of the Houston Texans, who had a really, really good playoff run last year,” Sherman said. “Houston got decimated with injuries, and he made a really good impact and helped them stay in these games and beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in that playoff game.

“It’s a solid move. [Kirk is] a veteran receiver, and I don’t think you can have enough vet receivers. He’s a guy who can take the top off the defense, and that’s what he’s done historically. He’s a little older than he used to be, but I think he complements this offense well.”

The biggest move of the 49ers offseason was going out and signing Mike Evans. With those pieces plus Kirk, it should be fun to watch.
