Rich Eisen returns to ESPN
ESPN is expected to air "The Rich Eisen Show" beginning this fall on ESPN+ and Disney+, with the possibility that the show ends up on ESPN Radio as well, The Athletic's Andrew Marchand reports. The network will license the show from Eisen, which allows Eisen to remain in control of editorial decisions, which is a similar deal to what ESPN has with "The Pat McAfee Show."
The exact details of Eisen's new deal with ESPN are unknown. However, ESPN and NFL Media have been in discussions over a partnership that could allow Eisen's relationship with ESPN to grow.
Eisen's show airs from Noon ET to 3 p.m. ET, a similar time slot to McAfee's show, but ESPN reportedly views the two shows as complements instead of competitors since Eisen's show won't air on TV like McAfee's show does. According to Marchand, Eisen's show will be part of ESPN's expanded direct-to-consumer offerings this fall.
Eisen got his start at ESPN, as he worked for the network in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The sportscaster primarily worked as a SportsCenter co-anchor with Stuart Scott, but he assisted with coverage throughout the company, including on ESPN Radio.
