Rey Mysterio to team up with former AEW star for a massive match at Survivor Series? Possibility explored

Rey Mysterio returned to WWE for the first time in six months on this week's edition of RAW. The Master of the 619 immediately confronted his son, Dominik, who claimed he was the greatest Mysterio and luchador of all time.

While it seems like a singles match is in the works between the father-son duo at Survivor Series: WarGames 2025, since it is being held in their hometown of San Diego, California, a tag team match could be in the works instead.

The Judgment Day member has seemingly forged an alliance with Los Americanos on RAW, and he could be backed up by El Grande in his feud against his father. If so, Rey Mysterio could receive help in the form of former AEW star Penta, who is also at odds with Dominik.

Such a scenario would allow the WWE creative team to book a match pitting Rey Mysterio and Penta against Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano. However, it remains speculation for the time being, and we'll have to wait and see how this renewed rivalry between Rey Mysterio and Dirty Dom plays out.

WWE Champion claims he would pay to see Dominik Mysterio

In a recent interview on the ALL THE SMOKE: Unplugged podcast, WWE Champion Cody Rhodes claimed he would be paying to see Dominik Mysterio in the future. The American Nightmare also claimed that the Intercontinental Champion was considered the future of the industry backstage:

“He's somebody that's often cited internally, I don't think I'm giving anything away here, as somebody who's gonna be the future of the WWE. He's one of the ones that when it's said, I believe it. I think I'm gonna come to a WWE show in 15 years and pay money to see and it will probably be Dom Mysterio on the top of the card because he's figuring out how to do it."

Cody Rhodes and Dominik Mysterio haven't had a singles feud yet. It remains to be seen whether they will have a storyline between them in the coming years.
