Back in mid-October, the RedMagic 12 Pro+ was unveiled in China, and RedMagic said at the time that it would also launch globally as the RedMagic 12 Pro. Today, the RedMagic 12 Pro is official for the rest of the world, and it keeps the RGB-lit liquid cooling and the 8,400 mAh battery of its Chinese counterpart.

That battery is 12% bigger than the 7,500 mAh cell in the RedMagic 11 Pro, yet the new handset is thinner, at 8.5mm (vs. 8.9mm). Charging is where the global model differs from the Chinese one - you get 80W wired charging instead of 120W, along with wireless and bypass charging.

RedMagic 12 Pro brings its RGB liquid cooling and 185Hz screen to the global market

The 6.85-inch 1.5K BOE-made X11 OLED screen has what the company says is the industry's first 185Hz refresh rate paired with a 'true full-screen' design with an under-display selfie camera. The panel comes with 0.96mm bezels, reaches 1,900 nits of global peak brightness and 5,000 nits of local peak brightness, and offers an instantaneous touch sampling rate of up to 5,000Hz. Hidden underneath are a ninth-generation 16MP selfie camera developed with BOE and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint reader.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset is at the helm, joined by the in-house RedCore R5 gaming chip and the G1 display chip, with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. On the back, there's a 50MP main camera with OIS and a 50MP ultrawide.

The AquaCore Cooling System 3.0 combines the dual-loop liquid cooling, which now lights up in RGB, with a 25,500 RPM fan, a vapor chamber with a 15% larger effective cooling area, and Liquid Metal 4.0. The new micro-pump delivers up to 130kPa of output pressure, 85% more than its predecessor's, while drawing as little as 20mW.

The phone is IP68/IP69-rated for dust and water resistance, while the fan area carries a separate IPX8 rating. You also get 520Hz shoulder triggers (the Chinese model's are rated at 700Hz), stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, an X-axis linear motor, an IR blaster, NFC, Wi-Fi 7, and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port. It runs RedMagic OS 12 based on Android 17, with Gemini integration, PC game emulation, and Steam access through the X-Gravity gaming center.
