The Boston Red Sox are in last place in the American League East, and with how the season's gone, it would not be a surprise if this club decided to sell at the MLB trade deadline.

But, when it comes to parting with players this summer by the August 3 deadline day, there is a huge question about Jarren Duran, the outfielder who's most often been mentioned in trade talks.

Fortunately, as Mark Feinsand of MLB.com highlighted, the Red Sox have transitioned from having someone whose value collapsed at the start of the season to a resurgent May and June, which has made Duran valuable once again.

"It seemed as though Duran's trade value had plummeted to an all-time low by the end of April..." Feinsand writes. "Since May 1, the 29-year-old has turned things around..."

When Duran had his .481 OPS start to the season, it was reasonable for the Red Sox to be very worried, as not only was Duran not helping the team win, but he was also ruining any trade value he had.

After May began, however, Duran totally turned things around. He has a .767 OPS since May 1, and with nine homers in 35 games, Duran's huge turnaround has reignited his trade value.

MORERoman Anthony mightve been overhyped for Red Sox

While it's obvious he won't be valued at the ridiculous 9.0 bWAR season he had back in 2024, when he was the All-Star Game MVP, Duran is still going to be a valuable trade asset this summer.

Boston is trending towards selling this summer, and while players like Aroldis Chapman, Garrett Whitlock, and other one-year rentals will be of interest, Duran, under club control through 2028, looks to be in line for a solid return for the Red Sox.

Compared to Duran's trade value when the season began, he's raised his trade value significantly in the last month. He's looked much better, and while his season numbers (.210 average, .652 OPS) aren't the best, his recent production is worth investing in.
