Keyshia Ka’Oir, the entrepreneur, model, and wife of rapper Gucci Mane, has found herself at the center of a growing online debate after claims surfaced suggesting that she has been charging over $500 per hour for mental health consultations.
The conversation initially went viral on social media platforms, including X, with users expressing surprise and frustration at the supposed price tag and the service itself.
why am I hearing that @KeyshiaKaoir is charging people $525 to “consult” on mental health issues?? she is not licensed or qualified to speak on mental illness — this is dangerous and irresponsible. mental health support requires real credentials. Report her.
The post sparked a large-scale debate, with users posting their personal views on the morality and cost of such alleged consultations.
One of the users mentioned:
"Out of the many issues here, real therapists charge less 🫠"Out of the many issues here, real therapists charge less 🫠
Following this, many reactions expressed skepticism, criticism, and humor. Many focused on the high price point, the qualifications, and comparisons to licensed professionals and other forms of guidance.
@SagittariusNik @KeyshiaKaoir My best friend is a licensed psychiatrist, I get my advice for free …. Tf she mean she listening and keeping it real???!?? Hello? For $425??? Chillle byeeee
@SagittariusNik @KeyshiaKaoir Mind you, real professionals with degrees aren’t even charging that much for a talk session 😭
@SagittariusNik @KeyshiaKaoir If they stupid enough to pay it thats on them
However, not all responses were negative. A smaller segment of users claimed that the problem was perhaps exaggerated when Keyshia Ka’Oir had not specifically stated that she is a licensed professional.
@SagittariusNik @KeyshiaKaoir How is this any different than a life coach? Or any other consultant that doesn’t a have a license or degree in the field they are consulting for? experience has always been the best teacher. hope this helps 🫶🏾
@SagittariusNik @KeyshiaKaoir Don’t you know she’s a mental health advocate???? that’s why she has FULL control over Gucci Mann and all his financial dealings and his social media!!
@SagittariusNik @KeyshiaKaoir ...if she's not representing herself as a licensed professional, what's the issue?
@SagittariusNik @KeyshiaKaoir I don’t see “consult” nowhere on her ad for being an ear and giving her experience. Gone and report her tho.
At the time of writing, a “1:1 General Life Advice (1 Hour)” session is available on Ka’Oir’s official website, described as a consultation about personal and lifestyle advice. The listing, however, does not mention mental health or claim any professional licensing or therapeutic qualification.
Inside Keyshia Ka’Oir’s role in navigating Gucci Mane’s mental health challenges
On October 20, 2025, in a joint appearance on The Breakfast Club, Keyshia Ka’Oir and Gucci Mane provide some of the rare insights into how they cope with the mental health challenges of the rapper as a couple.
The conversation was accompanied by the publication of the third book by Gucci Mane, Episodes: The Diary of a Recovering Mad Man, during which he disclosed that he had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. The Atlanta rapper looks back at his life, career, and previous legal issues in the memoir, putting them in context with the mental health issues that accompanied those times.

Keyshia Ka’Oir, 40, described how she personally handled the symptoms of her husband, pointing out that the main role of the personal system was to protect her husband against possible triggers. She further explained that one of the first things she does is restrict his access to social media and manage his surroundings. Keyshia Ka'Oir said:
"I have a system, I take his apps off his phone. First thing I do, I delete Instagram. I delete everything. Even if I gotta change his password, I’m changing it because I don’t need the public to know he’s having an episode."She continued:
"I control that. You’re not going on Instagram, you’re not going on Twitter, it’s deleted. I control everything at home. Now, before the episodes come, I catch it. That’s why he hasn’t had another one. How you catch it is he doesn’t speak to you, he wants to be left alone, he don’t eat, he does not sleep. Text messages, there’s a period after each word."Gucci Mane also contributed to the topic by drawing upon his own experience, saying that he is sometimes unaware of his actions during these episodes. He explained how he would experience being confined to a state of psychosis or what he termed a “warped world,” where he would hear voices and experience that people were turning against him.
Keyshia Ka’Oir further indicated that she goes into a “mother mode” whenever her husband goes through such situations, ensuring he gets the appropriate care and support.
Their interview explored the themes of resilience and partnership that run across Episodes: The Diary of a Recovering Mad Man. In Episodes, Gucci Mane looks back at his own experiences with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and addiction, showcasing a journey of endurance through these struggles, seeking professional care, and making the commitment to change.
