The San Francisco 49ers have weathered the storm of several injuries through the first seven weeks of the season. Brock Purdy, Brandon Aiyuk, Ricky Pearsall, Nick Bosa, and Fred Warner have all missed time this season, and yet the 49ers are 5-2 and sit atop the NFC West.
With all of these injuries, though, the 49ers are a team that is expected to make amove at the deadline to help patch up some holes. ESPN labels the 49ers as a team that will pursue Cincinnati Bengals star edge rusher Trey Hendrickson.
"Hendrickson would be far and away the most attractive trade target if Cincinnati entertains a deal," Jeremy Fowler writes. "However, a team source told ESPN, as reported Oct. 14, that the Bengals have no plans to trade the former All-Pro. The interest will be there regardless, and San Francisco in particular considers Hendrickson an ideal fit. The Bengals' record is 3-4 and the team is in the thick of the AFC North race, all the more reason to keep its best defensive player."
Hendrickson will be a free agent in 2026. And while the Bengals are looking to stay in the AFC playoff race until Joe Burrow returns, they could be willing to move Hendrickson if they drop their next two games.
