The Baltimore Ravens have a major question mark at kicker this offseason as things remain murky with long-time veteran kicker, Justin Tucker.
The NFL is investigating Tucker after many allegations of sexual misconduct, and the seven-time Pro Bowler is coming off his worst season. The Ravens have given themselves a possible replacement for Tucker after taking kicker Tyler Loop in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL draft.
As the Ravens are in the midst of their rookie minicamp, questions arose about the state of the kicker position, which is one of the biggest offseason topics for the team.
Head coach Jim Harbaugh noted that Tucker has been working out in the building and the team is still waiting on the results of the league's investigation. Harbaugh added that, until they have those results from the NFL, the decision at kicker will be "based purely on football."
"John Harbaugh said Justin Tucker has been in the building working out," Giana Han of the Baltimore Banner reported on Sunday. "Since they’re still waiting on results of the investigation, from a coaching end, he said all kicking decisions regarding Tucker and rookie Tyler Loop will be based purely on football."
Considering the fact that they took Loop — he was the only kicker drafted — in the sixth round, it's pretty clear that the Ravens are high on him. However, as is the case with all rookies, his ability to stick in the NFL remains uncertain.
Tucker, who has denied the allegations against him, has not been charged with any crimes and isn't facing any civil lawsuits.
"I maintain I did not act inappropriately at any point before, during, or after a professional bodywork treatment session, nor have I ever been told I am unwelcome at any massage therapy provider. These claims are simply not true," Tucker said in a statement. "Throughout the last four weeks, I have spent countless hours replaying every interaction I have had with bodywork professionals over the last thirteen years. I can assure whoever is reading this that I have never intended to disrespect anyone, cross any boundary, or make anyone feel uncomfortable in any way whatsoever."
Despite the ugly situation, the Ravens are at least considering keeping Tucker or else they would have cut him already. But, on the flip side, letting Tucker go is obviously on the table, also, as evidenced by the selection of Loop.
