Ravens' Jesse Minter has 1 huge decision looming

The Baltimore Ravens have found their new head coach, with former Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter taking over for John Harbaugh.

While the head coach decision was a big one, Baltimore's next one has the potential to make or break their 2026 season.

While that might be a little heavy-handed, who Minter hires as his offensive coordinator will be a fascinating watch.

Keep in mind that Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, and Zay Flowers are clearly the big drawcards, and for NFL.com's Judy Battista, Minter's decision has the utmost importance placed on it.

"His selection of an offensive coordinator will be hugely important, given the presence of Lamar Jackson, who made this the most attractive available job this cycle and who will almost certainly have input into the candidates," Battista wrote.

"The Ravens interviewed, among others, Joe Brady and Kliff Kingsbury, and if they don’t get head jobs elsewhere, they could be considered for the offensive coordinator role."

OC hire could impact Ravens' 2026 season

For most, the Ravens go as Lamar Jackson goes, and with Minter's defensive mind taking over the defense, all eyes are on the offense.

It stuttered and spluttered in 2025, so whoever Minter gets as OC has to be one serious offensive mind.

Battista mentioned Joe Brady and Kliff Kingsbury, both of whom have a good pedigree in the NFL, and either of them leading a Lamar Jackson offense is a tantalizing thought.

Of course, Lamar will have a say in who will be the new voice in his ear, but Brady and Kingsbury have had great success with run-based offensive systems.

Who Minter hires is going to be interesting to watch, and for the first-time head coach, it's one he can't afford to get wrong.
