The Texas Rangers' postseason hopes came down to game 162.

However, they lost their final game and watched the Houston Astros claim the AL West title, only to drop the first two games of the Wild Card Series.

The Rangers should be a busy organization this winter, making the necessary changes to the roster.

One area of need for Texas' roster may be at catcher.

"For Texas, the catcher spot in the lineup was a season-long struggle, and they have both Elias Díaz and Kyle Higashioka hitting free agency," Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller wrote. "They're also slated to lose primary DH Joc Pederson, so a slugging C/DH would be a huge pickup for them."

Miller proposed a trade with the Colorado Rockies that would send All-Star backstop Hunter Goodman to the Rangers.

"Lost amid the embarrassment of the Rockies enduring yet another season of more than 100 losses, Hunter Goodman did quite a bit of mashing with 41 home runs in his 574 trips to the plate," Miller wrote. "That translates to a home run in 7.1 percent of his plate appearances, which was the highest ratio in the majors this season."

In Miller's trade proposal, the Rockies would receive right-handed pitching prospects Caden Scarborough and AJ Russell, and catching prospect Malcolm Moore.

There should be little concern with a drop in power outside of Coors Field for Goodman, who hits better on the road than at home.

Goodman's defense is slightly below average, but there's no doubt he could help the Rangers' lineup.

This could be one potential move that helps elevate the Rangers from a .500 team to a contender in the American League.
