Jo Adell has boatloads of potential.

In 2025, he hit 37 home runs with the Los Angeles Angels and posted a career-best 115 OPS+.

The Angels traded him to the Cleveland Guardians at this year's deadline, and he's on the ALDS roster against the Chicago White Sox.

Despite solid counting stats (23 HR, 94 RBIs), Adell strikes out at a 23.8% rate and rarely draws walks.

Bleacher Report's Tim Kelly wrote that Adell's overall season was worse than you may think, but there is one way he could help the Guardians.

"Adell felt like someone who would benefit greatly from a change of scenery, and finally got one in August when the Los Angeles Angels traded him to the Guardians. His production in 2026 was better in Cleveland than Anaheim, but he still only posted a .740 OPS in 48 games with the Guards," Kelly wrote.

Manager Stephen Vogt would be wise to put Adell in the lineup against left-handed pitching.

The outfielder sees the ball much better against southpaws.

"To be fair to Adell, he has a place in the league as is. He mashed lefties this season, batting .320 with a .971 OPS against southpaws," Kelly added. "Perhaps he should just be a platoon guy."

Adell hit 14 of his 23 home runs and posted a .971 OPS against lefties during the regular season.

He's definitely someone the Guardians can use in a pinch-hitting scenario in the ALDS against the White Sox.

Adell reaches free agency in 2028, and he'll surely be motivated to make a lasting impact next season.
