Kyler Murray’s days with the Arizona Cardinals may be numbered, as the team could look to make a change at the quarterback position over the offseason.
If the Cardinals do move on from Murray, he’ll need somewhere to continue his career, and the Los Angeles Rams will need a succession plan for Matthew Stafford’s eventual retirement. So, perhaps the two sides could come together over the offseason.
Rams listed as top landing spot for Kyler Murray
In a recent article, Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report listed the Rams as the top landing spot for Murray, citing an opportunity to could be mutually beneficial.
“The Cardinals would undoubtedly prefer to trade the 28-year-old [Murray], but finding a trade partner will be difficult. Cutting him with a post-June 1 designation and saving $5.7 million in cap space will also be an option. If Murray is released, the rival Los Angeles Rams could provide the perfect landing spot for him,” Knox wrote.
“He could rebuild his NFL stock under Sean McVay—as Baker Mayfield once did—and L.A. will eventually need an heir to the 37-year-old Matthew Stafford.”
More to come.
