Rams $56 million question could be what keeps them from Super Bowl

The Los Angeles Rams have Super Bowl aspirations in 2025. After a year in which they were mere plays away from the NFC Championship Game, Los Angeles signed future Hall of Fame wide receiver Davante Adams to complement wideout Puka Nacua and Matthew Stafford in the passing game.

However, as Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated points out, the Rams will also be relying on a backup left tackle if Alaric Jackson misses substantial time due to blood clots.

"The offense got interesting this offseason, with a good group adding Davante Adams, bringing Coleman Shelton back at center, and drafting Terrance Ferguson and Jarquez Hunter," Breer writes. "Matthew Stafford is back, too, with Mike LaFleur in his third season as OC under Sean McVay. Interestingly, from there, the biggest issue is at left tackle, just three months after Alaric Jackson signed an extension. Jackson is out indefinitely with blood clots and, for now at least, aging vet D.J. Humphries is the safety net."

We send our continued well-wishes to Alaric Jackson as he continues to recover from the blood clots and hope to see him on the field as soon as possible. In terms of the pure on-field issue at hand, the Rams will need to see good production from Humphries if and when he steps in as the starter, or the Rams' ceiling will go down by a good margin. And with Matthew Stafford entering Year 17, they aren't guaranteed another run with him.
