Raiders vs. Saints injury report has 5 ruled out, 4 questionable for Week 17

The Las Vegas Raiders and New Orleans Saints have released their final injury reports of the week ahead of their Week 17 game on Sunday and there are four players listed as questionable and another five ruled out between the two teams.

The Raiders have been plagued by injuries all season long but have a mostly clean situation, with the exception of starting guard Jordan Meredith, who has been ruled out. Las Vegas will likely start rookie Jackson Powers-Johnson at guard and Andre James at center. JPJ had been starting at center before Meredith's injury.

New Orleans has a very different situation on their injury report, as a total of four Saints are ruled out and another four are questionable.

One of the only interesting storylines for this game was Derek Carr facing his old team for the first time, but he's one of the four ruled out. Carr suffered a hand injury that has kept him out of multiple games in a row.

With Carr sidelined, rookie Spencer Rattler will get the start once again. The Saints were shut out last week with Rattler under center, so the Raiders have a better chance to win with him starting, which is bad news for their draft position.

Along with Carr, three other starters are ruled out in running back Alvin Kamara and offensive linemen Erik McCoy and Lucas Patrick. Kendre Miller and Jordan Mims will likely split work out of the backfield.

The four players who are questionable for the Saints are wide receivers Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Chris Olave, defensive lineman Nathan Shepherd and cornerback Rico Payton.

Olave was designated to return from injured reserve recently after missing several games with a concussion. With nothing to play for, it would be best for Olave and the Saints to just sit him the rest of the season.
