Raiders owner Tom Brady predicts big things for sixth-round QB

15 hours ago 2

Tom Brady knows what it's like to be a quarterback drafted in the sixth round.

And his Raiders team, for which he's a minority owner, just picked up a sixth-round QB for their future.

At pick No. 215 overall, Las Vegas chose Cam Miller, the quarterback from North Dakota State.

Miller was 45-11 as a starter at NDSU with two FCS national titles.

Raiders GM John Spytek shared what Brady told him about Miller.

He liked the way he threw it, his technique, throwing from the ground up and his motion,” Spytek said of Brady’s assessment of Miller. “And he thought he had the potential to improve.”

Brady entered the NFL from Michigan with similar traits to what he described there of Miller.

That's not to say Miller becomes anything like Brady.

Miller is a much better runner with the football than Tom ever was, for whatever that's worth.

There'll at least be a solid mentor for Miller in Vegas (besides Brady), as the Raiders added established veteran Geno Smith to be their starting QB.

Miller might not ever amount to anything, but he's got the best possible sixth-round quarterback example he could ever ask for.
