The Las Vegas Raiders have had a miserable, no good, very bad 2025 season.
It got just a little bit worse on the first day of the new year.
They had rookie quarterback Cam Miller taken from their practice squad by the Miami Dolphins.
A practice squad player can be signed to another team's active roster, and that's what the Dolphins did with Miller, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Miller was a sixth-round pick in April out of North Dakota State. And now the QB doesn't even make it to the end of his first NFL year still with the Raiders.

It's poor handling of the situation by Vegas. There's no reason to let a rookie quarterback you just drafted get away like this.
Geno Smith isn't the QB of the future. Aidan O'Connell isn't the QB of the future. Is Miller? Probably not.
But he's the only guy who hasn't proven that he isn't good enough. The Raiders invested a pick in him.
Maybe you give the benefit of the doubt here and say this move took the Raiders by surprise.
But still, it's simply not good that Vegas let this happen.
Miami, which is looking for paths away from Tua Tagavailoa, has started seventh-round rookie Quinn Ewers the last couple weeks and now has brought Miller into their building to get some eyes on him, too.
Meanwhile, the Raiders are letting Smith play out the string on a totally lost season. Certainly two different approaches.
And in the end, it's only going to hurt the Raiders.
