The Minnesota Wild knew they were getting a great player when they traded for Quinn Hughes from the Vancouver Canucks.
But even with that in mind, Hughes continues to amaze so far in his tenure with the Wild.
He's playing so well that he has already tied a Minnesota franchise record in just 25 games.
It took Ryan Suter a total of 656 games to compile five games of three-plus assists, the Wild record for a defenseman, according to Jack Jablonski.
It has taken Hughes 25 games with Minnesota to put up five games of at least three assists.

Hughes' latest three-assist night was crucial on Monday as the Wild beat Montreal 4-3 in overtime.
He's on a nine-game point streak that includes two goals and 14 assists.
Since joining the Wild, Hughes has three goals and 29 assists in the 25 games.
Clearly, he has felt energized with his new team, as he's also getting 28 minutes, 16 seconds of average ice time per game.

The Wild traded away quality pieces to acquire Hughes, but it's a move that is paying off in a big way so far.
Vancouver made the logical choice to get younger and look toward the future, but it was certainly painful to give up Hughes, and the hurt of it must only be growing when seeing how well Hughes is playing in Minnesota.
At this rate, Hughes will have this particular Wild franchise record in the next couple weeks.
