The Philadelphia 76ers have had plenty of injuries this season, which has led to other players stepping up. Quentin Grimes has not had the best season so far, especially after his promising performances for Philly in the previous season.
However, he has stepped up to the plate in recent games. Against the Portland Trail Blazers and the Brooklyn Nets in a back-to-back, Grimes has scored 29.5 points per game. This is a role he is embracing with his impressive shooting.
Quentin Grimes knows he is having an impressive scoring run
Grimes has always been a positive player, especially with his offensive ability. Perimeter shooting has been his biggest strength, which is why the 76ers got him from the Dallas Mavericks at the 2025 trade deadline.
Considering the 76ers traded Jared McCain away in the 2026 deadline, Grimes' role became more important. He is a sharpshooter for this team, and he will be crucial whenever Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, and Paul George return.

Against the Trail Blazers on Sunday, he was the best player on the floor. It was a superb performance, as he went 11-for-22 from the field.
He only made one three-pointer from four attempts, but he was aggressive enough to lead the 76ers to a big win against a plucky Trail Blazers side. After the game, Grimes was still feeling confident.
"I feel great, I could shoot more right now if y'all need me to. I mean, you love the game, you wake up every day blessed to play the game that you love. I'm just thankful that I get to wake up every day and play the game I love," Grimes said after beating the Blazers.
Moving forward, Grimes will need to keep playing at this level. With a healthy team, the 76ers could be one of the most dangerous teams in the Eastern Conference. If they are firing on all cylinders, the possibilities are endless.
