The Los Angeles Dodgers have yet to stop making improvements to their super team this offseason, with the most notable moves being signing Kyle Tucker and Edwin Diaz. However, one more move may be enough to make them say they can’t be beat in the postseason.
One thing they lack is a reliable starter that isn’t injury-prone. Fansided’s Christopher Kline believes that the Dodgers can find a sturdy ace by dealing Roki Sasaki to a division rival, the San Francisco Giants, for two-time All-Star Logan Webb.
"Last season was hellish injury-wise for the Dodgers pitching staff. A workhorse of Webb's caliber would do a lot to stabilize what is already, on paper, the best rotation in MLB. San Francisco would never trade Webb to Los Angeles without a dramatic return package. Prying Sasaki out of L.A., establishing the Giants in the Japanese market and claiming five years of cheap club control over one of baseball's most dynamic young arms might satisfy San Francisco, especially if another season goes south,” Kline wrote.
This past season, Webb posted a 15-11 record, a 3.22 ERA, 224 Ks, and a WHIP of 1.237 over 207 innings pitched. He also was fourth place for the NL Cy Young, and received his second All-Star nod. Webb was also the Cy Young runner up in 2023, and sixth place in 2024.

On top of his sturdiness, he’s also cost-effective, compared to other Dodgers stars. He’s on year three of a five-year, $90 million deal, and for what he produces, he’s well worth it.
While it hurts to lose Sasaki, he’s probably the only way the Dodgers could even sniff a deal for Webb. Hopefully, they consider this and try to get to work before Spring Training starts.
