Predicting landing spots for NFL's remaining free agents in 2026, from Kirk Cousins to Tyreek Hill & Stefon Diggs

2 hours ago 3

Multiple waves of 2026 NFL free agency have already passed despite the new league year being only a week old. The signings and trades have come fast and furious, snatching up many of the desired impact players.

But there are still plenty of big names still needing to settle on their NFL homes in 2026, assuming they will get offers and won't be choosing retirement.

Here's a second time around projecting new (or old) teams for several talented veterans still on the market:

NFL FREE AGENCY 2026: Team-by-team grades

Predicting landing spots for NFL's remaining 2026 free agents, by position

Quarterbacks

Aaron Rodgers: Steelers

Rodgers is taking his sweet time re-upping with them now that Mike McCarthy is the head coach, but he should be locked in come draft time.

Russell Wilson: Dolphins

Wilson needs to find a home as a mobile big-armed backup and would make a lot of sense for Miami to get a more seasoned backup than Quinn Ewers.

Kirk Cousins: Colts

The Colts will be moving Anthony Richardson and some point and can make room for the former Viking as a contingency for Daniel Jones so they're not stuck like last year.

Joe Flacco: Bengals

The Bengals should be bringing back Flacco at some point to be their well-seasoned backup to Joe Burrow.

Running backs

Najee Harris: Giants

Harris was showing some promise in the Greg Roman offense before he went down in his lone season with the Chargers. Roman now works for the Giants, where they need some power contingency for Cam Skattebo.

Brian Robinson Jr.: Seahawks

This should have happened already as the team lost Kenneth Walker III and needs to get a better Plan B for Zach Charbonnet (knee) than Emaneul Wilson in the offense of former 49ers run game coordinator Brian Fleury.

Tyreek Hill: Commanders

The team might stop waiting for Brandon Aiyuk to be traded by the 49ers and take a chance on another big-play wild card.

Stefon Diggs: Dolphins

Diggs needs to go to Miami to help with their lagging depth with no Hill or Jaylen Waddle.

Jauan Jennings: Cardinals

He should follow former 49er Kendrick Bourne to help the depth.

Keenan Allen: Chargers

It's a late return to his original team or retirement.

Deebo Samuel: Panthers

He can come back to the Carolinas to help Bryce Young well.

Tight ends

David Njoku

David Njoku: Ravens

He would be ideal to replace Isaiah Likely with Mark Andrews.

Offensive linemen

Joel Bitonio: Chargers

They still to further address the interior line with the former Brown.

Jack Conklin: Lions

They need to address their exterior line more with the former Brown.

Edge rushers

Cameron Jordan: Bears

He should try to reunite with Dennis Allen to finish his career.

Joey Bosa: 49ers

He might as well boost their situational pass rush while helping and playing with brother Nick.

Jadeveon Clowney: Eagles

Clowney remains an intriguing, productive mercenary and the Eagles seem like an overdue match.

Defensive tackles

D.J. Reader: Bears

The Bears really could add this plug-and-play run-stuffer from the Lions.

Calais Campbell: Packers

Campbell would make sense signing late to reunite with Jonathan Gannon.

Linebacker

Bobby Wagner: Cowboys

The Commanders are still the best fit but Dallas could snatch his leadership at a big position of need.

Defensive back

L'Jarius Sneed: Chiefs

There are concerns about his heatlt but a Kansas City reunion would be smart given its cornerback losses this offseason.
