The Rock is among the most popular stars in WWE history, and many fans have been waiting to see him compete inside the squared circle. However, they might have to wait a little longer.
According to reputable sports journalist Andrew Baydala, The Great One will not be working this year's Show of Shows. However, The Final Boss reportedly has a "big offer" to compete next year at WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia. In an X (fka Twitter) update, Baydala further reported that there has been some hesitation on The Brahma Bull's part, as he knows it could be his last match.
"Before these "rumors" get wild again- The Rock is NOT wrestling at this year's #WrestleMania. The "big offer" under discussion is for next year's Mania 43 in Saudi Arabia, and there appears to be hesitation about proceeding, given that The Rock knows it would most likely be his last match," Baydala wrote. You can check out his tweet below:

The People's Champ's last in-ring appearance was at WrestleMania XL, where he teamed up with Roman Reigns to defeat Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins on Night 1. Unfortunately, he could not stop The American Nightmare from pinning The Tribal Chief to win the Undisputed WWE Championship the next night. Although the Hollywood star made sporadic appearances after that, he did not wrestle.
Wrestling veteran believes there is a major fallout between The Rock and WWE Head of Creative, Triple H
After John Cena's heel turn at WWE Elimination Chamber 2025, The Final Boss was expected to play a vital role in The Cenation Leader's feud with Cody Rhodes. However, he did not show up at all. During a recent interview with -7 Sports, Vince Russo shared the potential reason behind the 53-year-old's absence.
The former WWE head writer opined that there is heat between the Samoan and WWE CCO Triple H. Russo believes that people backstage have taken their sides, and the Hollywood star has decided to keep a low profile for the time being.
"Bro, I gotta tell you something. The only thing I see is I am convinced by looking at the landscape and what’s been going on for especially the last year and what not. I believe there is heat between Triple H and The Rock. I believe there are camps. I believe there are sides. I believe The Rock is laying low in the weeds," Russo said.
