Ayyoub Bouaddi was handed a full debut in Manchester City's Champions League opener at Porto.
The £85.6 million signing from Lille appeared off the bench in City's wins over Crystal Palace and Coventry City in the Premier League but got his chance as Enzo Maresca rotated his line-up slightly in the midweek before the Manchester derby at Old Trafford.
Matheus Nunes and Phil Foden also came in, with Abdukodir Khusanov and Iliman Ndiaye dropping to the bench.
City cannot afford to have too much of an eye on their showdown with United, however. Porto have been in superb form domestically and the Portuguese champions are top of the Primeira Liga once again thanks to a perfect record of five wins from five matches.
This is City's first visit to Estadio do Dragao since they lost the 2021 Champions League final 1-0 against Chelsea.
