Former AEW stars like Ricky Saints, Ethan Page, and Blake Monroe found instant success in WWE NXT. Another star who made a name for himself in the Tony Khan-led promotion could reportedly be headed to the Stamford-based wrestling promotion's developmental brand very soon.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select previously reported that Danhausen's current deal with All Elite Wrestling expires around February 2026. Earlier today on Fightful Select, Wrestlevotes Radio reported that World Wrestling Entertainment would be interested in the 35-year-old after his contract runs out. It was further reported that there is belief within the company that he would thrive in NXT.

Danhausen has been absent from AEW television for nearly two years. His last in-ring appearance for the company was at the Worlds End 2023 pay-per-view. However, he has continued to wrestle on the independent scene.

Wrestling veteran claims Danhausen could have been AEW's equivalent to WWE legend R-Truth

R-Truth is among the most beloved performers in professional wrestling. The multi-time WWE 24/7 Champion has been an integral part of weekly shows for years.

In an X (fka Twitter) post, indie wrestling veteran and former AEW star Joey Janela opined that Tony Khan missed a massive opportunity with Danhausen. The former AEW star noted that Very Nice Very Evil was the biggest potential merch seller and the most marketable star in the company. He added that Danhausen could've been AEW's version of R-Truth.

"Biggest ball dropped by AEW. Best merch, biggest potential merch seller, most marketable, could’ve been AEWs R truth would’ve figured out a spot for him for life.." Joey wrote.

Danhausen is highly likely to sign with WWE once his AEW contract runs out. It will be intriguing to see how he fares in the Stamford-based promotion.
