Pokemon GO Wild Area 2025 has a surprise shiny release

Apart from the widely announced release of the Shiny Impidimp and Shiny Hatenna families, Shiny Shadow Darkrai and Shadow Cresselia, Shiny Gigantamax Grimmsnarl, and Shiny Unown D, the Shiny Tinkatink family has also been released in Pokemon GO as part of the Wild Area 2025 event.

This is great news as Tinkatink, Tinkatuff, and Tinkaton are among the most beloved creatures from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

How to get Shiny Tinkatink in Pokemon GO

You can get Shiny Tinkatink in Pokemon GO in the following ways:

• Hatch Eggs
• Complete research
• Trade

Hatch Eggs

During the Wild Area 2025 event on November 15 and 16, Shiny Tinkatink can be hatched from 5 km Eggs. After the event ends, the creature will return to the 10 km Egg pool.

5 km Eggs obtained during Wild Area have Tinkatink listed as a rare hatch, alongside Mime Jr., Sandile, Pawniard, Carbink, and Impidimp (all of which can be shiny).

Complete research

You can get Shiny Tinkatink from the "Hatch an Egg" Field Research during the Fanciful Fairy Hour. This quest can be found by spinning PokeStops during the event. There is a 50-50 chance of encountering Tinkatink via this research, with the other potential encounter being Carbink.

Trade

If you are unable to get Shiny Tinkatink on your own, you can always ask an in-game friend to trade you one. However, this will count as a Special Trade and cost a hefty amount of Stardust.

What are the odds of finding Shiny Tinkatink in Pokemon GO?

There is a 1-in-64 or 1.5625% chance that Tinkatink will be shiny when you hatch it from an Egg or find it via Research.
