Team India skipper Suryakumar Yadav continued his miserable run with the bat in the ongoing fourth T20I against Australia in Carrara on November 6. Despite his stellar overall T20I record, the Indian captain has been under immense pressure due to his extended lean run with the bat.

The trend continued with Surya falling for a 10-ball 20 in his most recent batting vigil. The veteran batter started strong with two thumping sixes off Adam Zampa in his first five deliveries before flattering to deceive.

Surya now averages a dismal 15.33 in 15 innings in T20Is this year, with no half-centuries. Furthermore, the right-hander has averaged only 19.71 in 24 innings since taking over as India's T20I captain after the World Cup triumph in the West Indies.

Fans expressed their fury at Suryakumar Yadav's extended dry spell with the bat in T20Is with the following reactions:

This is not old vintage T20i 360° Suryakumar Yadav. - Captaincy changed his game !

Suryakumar Yadav needs to gain his batting form back man I won't be shocked if this management removes him from captaincy before t20 wc 2026 only if he continues with this horrible form from bat.

Dear Suryakumar Yadav, Thank you for that Final T20 World Cup catch. Now. Please leave this job and announce your retirement from this format. You're of no use with poor captaincy under Gambhir.

Fans continued flooding X with reactions on Surya's extended batting failure, with one saying:

"31.5 all out teeth Suryakumar Yadav with yet another failure. Before talking tips from ABD how to work balance your t20i and ODI game, it's high time you're put on short notice and another failure next game you're out of the team for good." "Another failure for Suryakumar Yadav as T20 captain. He was appointed as the puppet captain after taking deserving captaincy of Hardik Pandya!!" a fan posted. "Another day, another gum-chewing masterclass from our “captain cool” Suryakumar Yadav. Batting? Oh, that’s just a side hobby, his real talent is turning gum into powder before getting out!" tweeted a fan.

Team India fade away with the bat after Suryakumar Yadav's early dismissal

Team India could not build on a solid start handed out by their two openers, Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill, in the fourth T20I against Australia. The duo added 56 for the opening wicket in 40 deliveries to set things up for the visitors.

However, the latter slowed down considerably after a rapid start, finishing with a 39-ball 46. India also experimented by sending big-hitting Shivam Dube to No. 3, and the move backfired, with the left-hander falling for an 18-ball 22.

Surya's dismissal left India in a spot of bother at 125/4 in 15.1 overs. Wickets continued to tumble from that point as the Men in Blue sank to 136/6 in the 17th over.

It was thanks to some late hitting from spin-bowling all-rounders, Washington Sundar (12 off 7) and Axar Patel (21 off 11), that India managed a competitive total of 167/8 in their 20 overs.
