The Detroit Pistons are heading back to the postseason. 

Detroit made the playoffs in 2025 for the first time in six years, but now has consecutive playoff appearances for the first time since 2008 and 2009. The Pistons not only have clinched a playoff berth, but have already locked down the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference. With Detroit already locked into the top spot of the bracket, it has been waiting for the rest of the Eastern Conference to fall into place. 

The Pistons know that they will play the second team to emerge from the play-in tournament, but even when the regular season ends, Detroit will have to have a game plan for four different teams.
