The Pittsburgh Pirates have faced some struggles recently, with a series sweep at the hands of the Philadelphia Phillies being a particularly tough blow.

Now at 24-23, the Pirates need to rebound a bit, and to do so, they could use some more offensive help. And fortunately, they are calling up a slugger to help.

According to Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Pirates are set to promote .812 OPS outfielder Jhostynxon Garcia to the Majors for the St. Louis Cardinals series.

"Sources: Jhostynxon Garcia is expected to join the Pirates tomorrow in St. Louis, 'The Password' is heading to the major leagues," Hiles reports.

This report is some big news for the Pirates. With Ryan O'Hearn landing on the injured list and the team dealing with some very lackluster offense, adding more firepower is a must.

While it's too early to swing any blockbuster trade, it's a good time to promote someone who could be a long-term piece to help the offense.

Garcia, the 24-year-old slugger with an incredible nickname of "The Password," is someone that the Pirates hope will help unlock their stagnant offense.

He has a .812 OPS in his minor league career, and this season, across 95 at-bats, is hitting .242 with a .754 OPS, including six homers and 13 RBIs.

Pittsburgh will promote Garcia for the Cardinals series, which starts on Tuesday, May 19th. He will likely take over one of the outfield spots until O'Hearn is back, and could even stay up in the Majors if he finds success.

After being acquired in the Johan Oviedo trade with the Boston Red Sox over the offseason, Garcia is now set to make his MLB debut with the Pirates this season.
