The Pittsburgh Pirates signed Marcell Ozuna to add a thumping bat to their improving lineup.
They also included in his contract one of the most amusing contract incentives you'll see.
According to MLB insider Jon Heyman, Ozuna has an incentive for $25,000 that he would earn if he wins a Gold Glove.
All 299 of Ozuna's games played in the past two seasons have been as a DH.
He played just two games in left field in 2023.
Clearly, he no longer trots out to the outfield.
Heyman wrote, "Good contract but Gold Glove seems unlikely."
A popular baseball account, The WARmonger, added, "Better chance of him winning Manager of the Year."

Pittsburgh's hope is simply that Ozuna hits well for them.
He struggled a bit in 2025 and still hit 21 home runs and put up a .756 OPS.
The two seasons prior to that with the Braves, Ozuna had an OPS above .900.
In his career, Ozuna has 296 home runs between the Marlins, Cardinals and Braves. His career OPS is .806.
If his bat declines, he loses usefulness, since he doesn't play the field anymore.
But as long as Ozuna hits, he'll be worth it for the Pirates. At least they don't have to worry about paying him that extra 25 grand.
