Kyle Schwarber's eyes lit up as soon as he saw Grant Holmes' slider dropping near the middle of the plate. He swung it for the fences to give the Philadelphia Phillies a two-run lead to start the Sunday Night Baseball game against the Atlanta Braves at Citizens Bank Park.
Trea Turner led off the innings for the Phillies with a single to right field. Schwarber hit his seventh home run of the season as he deposited the ball 381 ft. deep into right-center field.

— MLB (@MLB) April 19, 2026This was classic Schwarber and he has done such a thing numerous times, going deep against the starting pitcher of the opposition early in the game. Coming into this game, Schwarber was hitting .211 with 12 RBIs and .871 OPS.
The Phillies have Andrew Painter pitching from the other end as they hope to deny the Braves a series sweep at Citizens Bank Park.
