Phillies' Kyle Schwarber has two surprising suitors after massive $160 million contract prediction

With the conclusion of MLB's season this week, hot stove season is rapidly approaching, and for the Philadelphia Phillies, they have one of the biggest decisions to make on top free agent Kyle Schwarber.

The Phillies are certainly the frontrunners to re-sign Schwarber, but it will come at a large price. Schwarber is one of the premier sluggers in MLB, and he appears to be getting stronger and more well-rounded as one of the best hitters in the sport.

Kyle Schwarber's contract value outlook

The biggest question about Kyle Schwarber's contract is how many years it will be. The consensus is that his AAV will be one of the highest out of any contract handed out this offseason, but how long will the Phillies or another potential suitor want to commit to him?

In a recent piece by The Athletic's Jim Bowden, Schwarber received a five-year, $160 million contract prediction from the former MLB executive.

"Contract prediction: 5-years, $160 million"

Bowden also named the New York Mets and Detroit Tigers as potential fits.

Schwarber hit 56 home runs this season, drove in 132 runs,  and will likely finish top-2 in NL MVP voting.

His free agency sweepstakes will be interesting if the Phillies don't sign him immediately. There's also the potential of other teams getting involved.

Schwarber is regarded as one of the best DHs in MLB and provides immense upside for any lineup he enters.
