Phillies confuse fans with TV broadcast decision involving Blue Jays announcers for spring game

The Philadelphia Phillies are playing Spring Training baseball on Saturday.

Their fans want to hear the usual NBC Sports Philadelphia broadcasters on their TVs, but they can't find them.

That's because Tom McCarthy and John Kruk aren't calling the game.

Instead, they're just using the Blue Jays feed.

McCarthy explained on X that it's because the Phillies are on the road Saturday, so they're just taking the host team's broadcast.

Road game. We are just picking up the Blue Jays feed. https://t.co/mAW91CeMCh

Spring Training action began for some teams on Friday, but this is the first game for both the Phillies and Blue Jays.

It's a look for Phillies fans at centerfield phenom Justin Crawford, who launched a deep double the other way his first time up.

Most of Philadelphia's regulars weren't taking part, though. They started former Braves righty Bryse Wilson on the mound.

Toronto had almost its entire regular starting lineup out there, aside from George Springer. Eric Lauer started on the mound for the Blue Jays.

The good news for the Phillies is they have a broadcast to watch. The Angels aren't broadcasting any of their Spring Training games this year. It could be worse for Philadelphia.
