Philip Rivers is making the most unlikely comeback in recent sports memory. Nearly five years since he last played in an NFL game, Rivers will be under center as the Colts' starting QB on Sunday.
To say its definitively the most unlikely comeback ever (though it might be) would be disingenuous to sports history. George Foreman, Magic Johnson, Mario Lemieux, Dara Torres, Bob Cousy, Kim Clijsters... you get the point. Regardless, Rivers is certainly in the conversation regardless of his comeback lasts four games or four snaps.
Much will be made about Rivers and his age.
Comparing the world now to when he retired. Comparing the age of his kids to his new teammates (six of them are younger than his oldest daughter). Comparing him to other athletes who played after becoming a grandfather.
Again, lots of places to go with this.

Philip Rivers first career start
Rivers made his first NFL start in Week 1 of the 2006 season. After sitting behind Drew Brees for two seasons after being selected with the fourth overall pick in 2004, Rivers patiently waited until finally getting his shot.
On September 11, 2006 (Monday Night Football, nonetheless), Rivers handed the ball off to LaDainian Tomlinson 31 times while finishing 8-11 for 108 yards and a touchdown in a 27-0 win over the Raiders.
Which brings me to the whole point of this exercise.
I occasionally like to kick off our staff meetings with a weekly sports trivia. And in digging into various Rivers ideas, I thought to myself: I wonder who else started that week.
Naturally, I looked to see if there was a Sporcle. There wasn't, and so, I made one!
Without cheating, see how many you can get.
