Philadelphia Eagles named top landing spot for eight-time Pro Bowl edge rusher

The Philadelphia Eagles could probably use some additional help at edge rusher heading into the 2026 NFL season. 

As a result, they've recently been listed as the top landing spot for one of the most accomplished edge rushers still available in free agency. 

Eagles named top landing spot for Von Miller

Moe Moton of Bleacher Report recently named the Eagles as the best potential destination for veteran edge rusher Von Miller, who is still looking for a new home after spending the 2025 season as a member of the Washington Commanders. 

Miller is 37 years old, but he's still a productive player as evidenced by the nine sacks that he recorded in Washington last season. 

"Perhaps Miller would be interested in a reunion with his former defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, who coached him for two-and-a-half seasons in Denver," Moton wrote. "The Eagles placed Jonathan Greenard on the physically unable to perform list after he suffered a pectoral injury while weightlifting before training camp. Nolan Smith Jr. hasn't played up to first-round expectations, logging 10.5 sacks in three seasons. Last year, Jalyx Hunt showed promise, recording 6.5 sacks, but he's been a rotational player in two terms.

". . . Miller can solidify the Eagles' pass-rushing group. In 2025, he led the Washington Commanders with nine sacks and tallied 19 pressures while on the field for 37 percent of the defensive snaps. The three-time All-Pro still has a lot left in his tank." 

Miller will bring a wealth of experience and success with him wherever he goes. Signing him for some added defensive depth could be a smart move by the Eagles.
