Over the last three seasons, the Milwaukee Brewers have had little trouble in the National League Central. They have been crowned division champions in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
They came into the 2026 season looking to make it a four-peat, and they have put themselves in a great position to do so. While the division was a little more congested earlier in the season, the Brewers have largely separated themselves from the rest.
They hold a 74-44 record, which puts them 5.5 games ahead of the Chicago Cubs, but that's not all. It is the best record across MLB: better than the Tampa Bay Rays, better than the Atlanta Braves, and better than the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Brewers fans will be ecstatic after seeing the latest power rankings
Last week, the Brewers had a full schedule of baseball. They took on the Pittsburgh Pirates in a four-game series and then the Minnesota Twins in a three-game series that finished over the weekend.
Milwaukee had little trouble taking care of the Pirates, winning the series 3-1, and then turned around and did much of the same against the Twins, beating them 2-1 in the series.
With this and how the Dodgers have played recently, Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter bumps up the Brewers from No. 2 to No. 1 in his latest power rankings.
"This is not simply a case of the Dodgers falling. The Brewers have the fifth-highest scoring offense in the majors and the second-lowest team ERA, which speaks as much to the balance of the roster as it does to their individual star power. A four-game series against the Dodgers in Los Angeles this weekend will likely determine next week's No. 1 team."
This week should be a much tougher week for the Brewers as they take on the San Diego Padres at home before taking on the Dodgers on the road.
With another successful week, Milwaukee should be able to keep its top spot in the power rankings come this time next week.
