Over time, Phil Mickelson has been a supporter of US President Donald Trump and the Trump administration. For those unaware, the United States citizens are experiencing a Government Shutdown.
A new clip on X has surfaced amid tensions about the expiring subsidies of the Affordable Care Act. In the video, Obamacare (another name for the ACA), named after former US President Barack Obama, has been criticized.
According to the X user named MAZE, Obama has reportedly lied regarding ACA deficit reductions and continued coverage of Obamacare. Shortly after that clip gained traction, Phil Mickelson shared a sly dig at the former President of the United States.
After reposting the X post on Obama, the six-time major champion wrote three words in the caption, hinting towards a "pivot" to Republican healthcare.
"Time to pivot"This is not the first time Mickelson has spoken up regarding the Affordable Care Act. Back in October, when Abigail Spanberger was the gubernatorial candidate in Virginia, she spoke at a rally about how she aimed to lower costs in healthcare, energy, and housing.
Phil Mickelson retweeted the video of her speech, lauding Spanberger's intent but slamming the Democrats' policies. He also blamed Obamacare for reportedly increasing healthcare expenses in the US.
When Phil Mickelson shared his honest take on former US President Barack Obama
In 2014, Phil Mickelson once handed out golf tips to then-President Barack Obama. Following that incident, he was interviewed by CBS Golf regarding his visit to the White House. The host, Norah O'Donnell, asked Lefty about his thoughts regarding Obama, who was also a Lefty.
The three-time major champion appeared excited as he talked about Obama. Phil Mickelson labelled that as "awesome," and said:
"You know, I love the fact that our President is not only a golfer, but a left-handed golfer. It's awesome."(0:06)Mickelson also talked about giving tips to Obama during his White House visit as a member of the Presidents Cup Team. The golfer stated that he advised Obama regarding the latter's "bunker play." The golfer said:
"We spent a minute talking about some of his bunker play because that's been giving him a problem. So the very simple thing that I told him, and it really applies to all golfers, is that you've got to have the ball forward in your stance and you've got to have your weight forward..."(0:18)Apart from being a politician, Obama holds a strong passion for golf. During his two Presidential terms, he was often spotted engaging in the sport. Even during his post-Presidential years, Obama has not given up on golf.
