Veteran wide receiver Tyler Lockett is set to sign with the Las Vegas Raiders, according to multiple reports. The move reunites him with his former coach, Pete Carroll, and quarterback, Geno Smith, from his prime years in Seattle.

NFL reporter Tom Pelissero shared the news on X.

"Veteran WR Tyler Lockett is signing with the #Raiders today, per sources. It’s a reunion for Lockett and Geno Smith, who connected plenty in Seattle and now are teaming up again under Pete Carroll in Las Vegas," Pelissero tweeted on Monday.

Some fans were not happy with the move, believing that bringing a veteran on board is not what Raiders need.

"I hate this. (Jack) Bech & Donte (Thornton Jr.) getting pushed out of getting snaps cause Pete doesn’t want rookies to play as we sit at 2-5 & not even close to being competitive. Makes no sense. Unless Jakobi (Meyers) is close to being traded," a fan wrote.

"F*ck it bring back Marshawn (Lynch) at this point," another fan wrote. "That's exactly what the Raiders are missing. Another formerly good player! If we just had even more formerly good players maybe we'd be winless. Carroll has a mind like no other. Just play the young guys you moron," a fan commented. "Pete Carroll tryna get the band back together in Las Vegas with Geno, Jamal Adams, Stone Forsythe, and now Tyler Lockett," one fan said.

Others were surprised with Lockett's decision to join Las Vegas, given its standing.

"Out of all the teams he could have gone to, he chose the Raiders???😭," another fan said. "Bro went from the Titans to the RAIDERS 😭😭😭that’s a downgrade LMAOOO both are a*s but goddamn," one fan tweeted.

Lockett requested his release from the Tennessee Titans last week after catching only 10 passes for 70 yards in seven games. He previously spent 10 seasons with the Seahawks and posted career totals of 661 catches for 8,594 yards and 61 touchdowns. Lockett ranks second in franchise history in multiple categories.
