Perez Hilton needs “emergency surgery” for a “massive” blood clot just weeks after his 21 day stay in the hospital.
The blogger gave the concerning update in and Instagram video Thursday, speaking from a hospital bed in Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas.
“We caught this early,” he assured his fans before explaining that an extreme pain in his leg led doctors to discover the blood clot.
“I went to the surgeon today — really good timing — and last night I started having real soreness and pain in one of my legs. This morning, it was way worse. I couldn’t even walk I had to use my walker,” he said.
From there, his surgeon sent him to the hospital to get an ultra sound where they quickly discovered what was wrong.
“I have a deep vein thrombosis” Hilton revealed. “I am so thankful to God that we caught this early because if that blood clot had gone to my lungs or my heart, it could have been real bad.”
“So tomorrow I’m having a thrombectomy where they’re knocking me out, I’m being put under in an emergency surgery and they’re going to remove the fully occluded blood clot, which is massive. It goes from my groin to about my foot.”
“I’ll update you guys when I can. See you on the other side,” he concluded, asking his fans for prayers.
Also in the clip, the journalist noted that he already saw some of the same nurses that took care of him during his 21 day hospitalization last month.

At the time, Hilton — born Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr. — landed himself in the hospital after taking flu medication on an empty stomach for a week.
“My stupidity landed me in the hospital for 21 days. It was the worst and best thing that’s ever happened to me,” he said in a YouTube video posted on March 23, in which he described the “crazy saga” after being released.
Hilton was taken to the hospital after an ulcer left him unable to walk.
During his stay, he underwent two major operations because doctors found he also had a perforation in his body.
Hilton then developed sepsis in the hospital which prolonged his stay.
Even after he was sent home from the hospital, he noted he was “not 100%,” but vowed to take his health scare as a learning lesson to slow down his lifestyle.
“I’m going to have dinner with my kids and my mom every night from now on,” he pledged.
