Penn Relays high school boys track and field results from Friday's events

2 hours ago 4

The second day of the Penn Relays is under way at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with a full slate of events for Friday scheduled across all divisions.

The high school boys events are officially under way with morning preliminaries taking place in the 4X800 and 4X100 relays and field event championships happening simultaneously.

There won't be as many boys events on Friday as there was for the girls on Thursday, but there's still plenty of events on tap with the 4X800 and 4X100 preliminary heats along with the championships in the field events. The championships for the boys' distance events are also scheduled for later in the day.

And the competition on the girls' side will also wrap up with several championship finals scheduled for the afternoon.

This year marks the 130th running of the Penn Relays, an event that dates back to April 21, 1895. It's the oldest track and field competition staged in the United States with more than 15,000 athletes competing annually and at least 100,000 spectators regularly attending across the event's three days.

The high school portion of the Penn Relays will continue through Saturday when the final boys events are staged including the 4X400 relays.
