Brazilian MMA star Paulo Costa had an interesting callout to fight Reinier de Ridder. Costa, who is known to troll and joke on social media, called out the Dutch star on X.

The former UFC middleweight title challenger last fought at UFC 318 and got a unanimous decision win over Roman Kopylov.

He seems keen on returning to action and wants to fight the Dutch star:

"De ridder x Costa . Whoever loses is gay. 🏳️‍🌈"

De Ridder didn’t have a great outing in his last fight. The Dutch star was expected to cement his title credentials with a win over Brendan Allen. However, De Ridder didn’t look like himself, and his corner stopped the fight after four rounds.

De Ridder had won all his UFC fights before facing Allen. He beat Robert Whittaker before the Allen clash and looked to be in great touch.

Costa, for his part, returned to winning ways at UFC 318. Before that, he lost back-to-back fights against Sean Strickland and Robert Whittaker.

Reinier de Ridder slams Paulo Costa

Reinier de Ridder was to face Anthony Hernandez in his last fight. However, Brendan Allen replaced Hernandez due to an injury.

While the Dutch striker wanted to test his skills against Hernandez, he slammed Paulo Costa.

De Ridder claimed that Costa declined to fight him unless it was a three-round clash and at catchweight.

Speaking to MMA Junkie, De Ridder shared Costa’s terms:

"I didn’t really expect anybody to step up at all [after Fluffy pulled out]. Nobody really wanted to fight. Then we tried [Paulo] Costa, but Costa wanted it on his own terms, so that really didn’t happen as well. Costa wanted it to be catchweight and only three rounds."

De Ridder added:

"I think if you get a shot like that to fight for a main event, get another chance to come up in the rankings. I think you should just shut up and say yes, not put your own terms in there. F*** off, take the fight."
