Former NHLer and analyst Paul Bissonnette criticized Toronto Maple Leafs players for their focus on pre-game fashion choices during the team’s ongoing struggles.
Appearing on a recent segment shared by Daily Faceoff, the outspoken Leafs fan expressed frustration that players appear more concerned with their off-ice appearances than on-ice performance.
Bissonnette suggested this reflects a lack of urgency and accountability while the team languishes in a slump:
"It drives me f****g bananas when these guys are playing like sh*t, and they're coming in with their fancy outfits and their f*****g duffel bags and stuff. Like, I'm more of the like, oh, okay, that's fine, I guess, when you're winning, but when you're in 15th place in the East and the f**k cities about to burn down, and you're more worried about your Bottega Veneta sweater that you got to tie up the sleeve," Bissonnette said.Paul Bissonnette's comments come as the Toronto Maple Leafs sit sixth in the Atlantic Division with an 18-15-6 record. The team has dealt with inconsistent play, fueling fan and media discontent throughout the season.
Bissonnette, known for his passionate support of the Maple Leafs, has frequently weighed in on the team's underwhelming performance.
