Patriots vs. Seahawks Super Bowl predictions: Who majority of experts are picking to win

14 hours ago 5

Super Bowl LX is finally upon us and the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots will be playing for all of the marbles on Sunday.

The Patriots had an incredible turnaround in the first season under head coach Mike Vrabel, with New England going from 4-13 in 2024 to 14-3 and the No. 2 seed in the conference in 2025.

Quarterback Drake Maye was a major catalyst for the Patriots' impressive season and was a top MVP candidate before the award went to Los Angeles Rams quarterback, Matthew Stafford.

The Seahawks saw some major changes on the offensive side of the ball during the offseason and took some flak for moving on from quarterback Geno Smith and wide receiver DK Metcalf.

However, those moves proved to be the right ones, as quarterback Sam Darnold helped elevate the offense, which was a perfect complement to Seattle's elite defense en route to a 14-3 record and the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

The Seahawks earned a first-round bye in the playoffs before dismantling the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round and a close win over the Rams in the NFC Championship Game.

The Patriots secured fairly easy victories over the Los Angeles Chargers and Houston Texans in the wild-card and divisional rounds, respectively, before defeating the Denver Broncos in a wild snow game in the AFC title game.

This is the second time these two teams will meet in the Super Bowl, with the first time coming in Super Bowl XLIX, which the Patriots won following Seattle's goal line blunder that remains one of the biggest in the game's history.

Will the Seahawks get the better of the Patriots this time around? Or will New England take a step toward a new dynasty with a win over Seattle?

Here's what the majority of experts predict will happen on Sunday.

Patriots vs. Seahawks Super Bowl predictions

Vinnie Iyer, The Sporting News: Patriots 27, Seahawks 24

Iyer: "The Patriots have proven themselves with their defense in the playoffs, taking most of the winning burden away from Maye. That defense will be a difference-maker again, with Maye getting well prepared by McDaniels during the bye to attack the Seahawks. Maye has more assets with his physical skill set to believe that his talent will help him overcome his youth and inexperience. Maye joins Brady in winning a Super Bowl in his second season, while Darnold drops to 0-5 in his career vs. the Patriots."

Bill Bender, The Sporting News: Seahawks 24, Patriots 20

Bender: "Ultimately, it is tough to pick against Seattle – which will build an early lead behind Darnold and be able to prevent the Patriots from turning this into a time-of-possession battle. New England, however, can make this a defensive game, too. With two of the top-five scoring defenses in the league, expect that to unfold. A late turnover seals the victory for the Seahawks."
