Patriots releasing $12M defender could be of interest to Cowboys, Packers, Eagles, Bills

The Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay are all in the market for help along the edge in 2026, with those teams needing at least one starter and depth.

The Bills have Joey Bosa and A.J. Epenesa as free agents, which leaves a hole across from Greg Rousseau.

The Cowboys acquired Rashan Gary in a trade with the Green Bay Packers, but more help is needed. That trade also leaves the Packers in need of help at the position.

Philadelphia is in dire straights along the edge after Jaelan Phillips departed for the Carolina Panthers in free agency. Now, Philly needs two starters, along with some depth.

One player all four teams could have interest in is soon-to-be released New England Patriots edge rusher Anfernee Jennings, who is reportedly going to be cut by the reigning AFC Champs on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

A former third-round pick of the Patriots in 2020, Jennings has posted 7.5 sacks over five seasons, including 4.5 over the past two years.

Not exactly the kind of production to write home about, but Jennings can offer a solid depth option that all four of the aforementioned teams need.

Jennings also offers some versatility. Granted, he has played mostly edge rusher in the NFL, but he was once viewed as a hybrid linebacker and could play inside if needed.

With Jennings likely to come very cheap, he makes sense for all four teams as a depth player who can fill multiple roles.
