The New England Patriots appear to have a legitimate chance of trading for A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles.

That's thanks in part to a pair of factors at play, shared in a new article by Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer.

The first factor is that Brown has a four-team wish list, according to Breer:

  • New England Patriots
  • Kansas City Chiefs
  • Los Angeles Chargers
  • Buffalo Bills

Breer then writes, "New England appeared to be the only team from that group really in on the idea of trading for the 28-year-old, three-time All-Pro."

So that would make it seem easy for the Pats. The only team that Brown wants to go to that wants him back is New England.

That also puts the Eagles in a position of negotiating power, though, as well.

"That would seem to give the Patriots some leverage," Breer writes. "But on the flip side, Brown is really the only top-shelf receiver on the trade market, which gives the Eagles leverage. Or maybe putting those two elements together will just turn this into a staring contest. Time will tell."

Brown is still under contract. The Eagles can try to hold firm and make him keep playing in Philly, even if he isn't super happy about it.

If they're going to move him, though, it'd almost be better for the Eagles if there's a bidding war.

Right now, the Patriots might be the only team in play. That could work out wonderfully for New England, if Philly is willing to play ball.
